What is a Preaching Consultant?

The idea of a preaching consultant is a foreign concept. For me, it was born out of a desire to help my fellow preachers. The options for improving as a preacher tend to be limited to conferences, listening to other preachers, or reading the latest books on preaching. I wanted to create an opportunity for preachers to improve by focusing on their own preaching. To that end, I decided to become a preaching consultant but what is a preaching consultant?

A Preaching Consultant is a Source of Trusted Feedback

Bill Gates says “We all need people who will give us feedback. That’s how we improve.” Ask yourself when the last time you sought out feedback on your preaching was? For most of us, it is rare to ask. There are two reasons for this. First, we lack the confidence to ask for feedback, and second, we do not know whom to ask. These reasons are why we need people to step up and be preaching consultants. As a preaching consultant I am invested in your success and ready, willing, and able to give you trustworthy feedback.

A Preaching Consultant is a Co-Labourer

I will be the first to admit I am not the perfect preacher. However, who is? Those of us who preach on the regular are all working to do the best we can. However, we do not have to do that work alone. Maybe you want to work on your preaching but don’t have time. Maybe you want to know more about how to structure a sermon, but you do not know where to begin. I have had the luxury of spending the last six years of my life studying preaching as I worked on my doctorate, and I would hate to waste that effort only on myself. I may not be the perfect preacher, but I am equipped to join with you to help you reach your goals.

A Preaching Consultant is a Support

There are many sources of great information on preaching, and we should pursue that knowledge to all ends, but the truth is that with a preaching consultant you have the opportunity to be supported in that journey. I am not interested in tearing you down, but I am committed to working with you to build you up. Everyone needs support, and that is what I want to be for you.
